The National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC) is engaged in a search for its next President, who would serve as its Chief Executive Officer and would ultimately be responsible, working with staff, to articulate and carry out the vision and mission of the Center. The NCBC was founded in 1972 and has served the bishops and the healthcare ministry of the Catholic Church through research, publications, clinical and institutional consultations, educational programs and public lectures. It has served as a consultative body to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and various dicasteries of the Holy See. Further information on the Center can be found at www.ncbcenter.org.
The President should be:
- A practicing Catholic in good standing; lay, religious, or cleric.
- Preferably a Ph.D. in bioethics, moral theology, dogmatic theology, or moral philosophy.
- If not a doctorate, then preferably some other terminal degree such as M.D. or J.D.
- Good writing and speaking skills. Media experience a plus.
- Faithful to the magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Managerial and fundraising experience.
- Not absolutely necessary to have been involved in bioethics but could be a public Catholic of some stature and proven experience in management.
