On April 28-29, 2017, the SCSS will co-sponsor with the the Veritas Center for Ethics in Public Life and the Political Science Dept. at Franciscan University of Steubenville on conference on "The Catholic Church in World Affairs." Speakers will include Dr. Paul Kengor of Grove City College; Austin Ruse of C-FAM; Dr. William Kirk Kilpatrick, author of Christianity, Islam, and Atheism: The Struggle for the Soul of the West; and Dr. Daniel R. Kempton of Franciscan University. The conference will take place in the Gentile Gallery of J.C. Williams Center on the Franciscan University campus. The SCSS's main conference in 2017 -- our Fall conference -- will be held on October 27-28, 2017 at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Steubenville, Ohio. It will be a milestone for the SCSS: celebrating our 25th anniversary.  The "Call for Papers" for the conference can be gotten by pressing on  "Conferences"  below.  We heartily invite paper and panel proposals. The deadline for proposals is June 1, 2017.
