NOTICE OF FACULTY POSITION IN FRANCISCAN UNIVERSITY OF STEUBENVILLE'S 

ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS, AND ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT

 

The Department of Accounting, Business, and Economics at Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) invites applications for a full time, tenure track position to begin August 2015. FUS is an academically excellent and passionately Catholic university in the Franciscan tradition, located 24 miles west of Pittsburgh International Airport.  The successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in a business-related field by the time of employment, from an accredited college or university.  The candidate must demonstrate a solid record of scholarly and/or popular publications integrating her/his discipline with the Catholic Social Teaching and free-market principles.  In addition, the candidate must be committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, and support The Mission of the university.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester in core business areas and her/his discipline of expertise at the graduate and undergraduate levels.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to become a leading voice for the department and the university by publishing and presenting in both academic circles and the public square on topics that intersect Catholic Social Teaching, free-market principles, and sound business theory.   To apply, please submit: a letter of application; curriculum vitae; evidence of undergraduate teaching effectiveness (including evaluations); a statement of teaching philosophy; a statement on the mission of the Franciscan University of Steubenville; three letters of reference; and official transcripts.  All materials must be submitted electronically to Dr. Michael Welker, Chair, Search Committee, via bbrehm@franciscan.edu or physically c/o BJ Brehm, Academic Affairs, Franciscan University of Steubenville, 1235 University Boulevard, Steubenville, OH 43952.  Review of completed applications will begin on January 15, 2015 and will continue until the position is filled.  For additional information, http://www.franciscan.edu/EmploymentListings/.   EOE
